About

Going for Seconds is a blog whose mission is to bring the world of food and wine to you informally. It will be your pocket atlas for what to eat, what to drink, where to go, what to read, and what to know.

We’ll be spending most of our time in Seattle, yet keeping an eye on the greater Northwest and other stuff near and far. We’ll visit some restaurants and share my experiences there; I’m no critic, just a dude that really likes food.

I love to eat and drink. And I love sharing whatever little bit of information that I have. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope to see you around the kitchen table ready to get full!

If you want to share food stories with me or have any suggestions, please email me. Hit me off at:

  1. Frank: Is this “the Frank?”

Love the foodie blog! Loves more the post about Malenas. Hope to see you and my Sarah when we come home for Xmas!

  2. i strongly feel that i should be added to “other people who like to eat and drink.” my blog may not be foodie-based, but i like to eat and drink like it’s my last day on earth, every day :)

  3. Hi Frank, Since you’re a fan of oysters I wanted to let you know we’re having a contest and giving away 4 dozen Puget Sound oysters to the person who best answers “What would you do with 48 free oysters?” (The winner will be voted on by our readers)

  4. Dear Frank,

I came across your blog while researching for the third season of the hit FOX show “Kitchen Nightmares.” Please see the information below.

    Restaurant Nominations Wanted!!!

For the first time we’re turning to the experts of the restaurant industry seeking your nominations to be considered for Fox’s hit show Kitchen Nightmares.

Have you seen a great place take a turn for the worse? Is your favorite eatery disappointing you?

There’s no one more suited to save the day than Chef Gordon Ramsay! Owner of many top restaurants around the world, totaling 14 Michelin Star ratings, he can give the best advice to these struggling, dysfunctional restaurants.

In these troubling economic times small businesses such as restaurants need all the help they can get. Do you know a restaurant owner who might appreciate expert advice and the chance at saving their business from closing its doors forever?

Please send the name and location of the restaurant and a brief explanation of why you think it DESERVES to be considered for Kitchen Nightmares to us at kitchennightmares@theconlincompany.com or call and leave a message (310) 482-2641

If you choose to make an anonymous nomination we will respect your confidentiality.

Thank you for taking dining seriously. We welcome your phone calls.

    Cordially,

  5. Hi Frank,

Just wanted to say it was great to meet you and your “muse” last Sunday at the Ballard Farmers Market.

I hope you’re enjoying experimenting with the salt. Let me know if you have any questions about their applications.

    Cheers,
